The pet food products database contains nutrient information based on guaranteed analysis data [calories, total omega-3 fatty acid content (Total n-3), linoleic acid (LA), alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), crude protein, crude fat, and crude fiber] for the majority of pet food products currently available in the United States market. One exception to this presentation is for Hill's pet food products, which presents the actual analyzed nutrition values [Average Nutrient Contents based on dry matter (DM)] for the products listed in the database. From these lists of pet food products, the pet owner can easily tell if a pet food contains omega-3 fatty acids, the types and sources of omega-3 fatty acids, and their quantity (provided the manufacturers made this available). The information presented here is gathered from the websites of the respective pet food manufacturers and communications with the manufacturers. The pet food products database serves as a convenient way for the pet owner to easily and quickly determine the amount of omega-3 fatty acids that are present in their favorite pet food products.
